AEDEM activities include:
a) Publishing a bimonthly bulletin containing news, research and special reports on music industry issues. b) Conducting campaigns and organising competitions to promote Spanish music. Such activities include congresses, conferences, debates and other appropriate activities. c) Developing collective initiatives and links with other associations or groups with similar features or objectives. d) Advising members on all matters relating to intellectual property and applicable legislation, assisting in legal, economic and moral protection issues in Spain and abroad through all means deemed appropriate. e) Reaching suitable agreements with copyright management organisations; co-operating with official institutions and bodies, the General Association of Publishers and Authors (SGAE) and any other copyright management organisations during the preparation, reform or enforcement of intellectual property laws. f) Negotiating with theatre companies and the media (TV & radio stations), orchestras and orchestra federations, record companies and audio-visual and multimedia companies in relation to the terms of use of symphonic, dramatic and musical works and plays, as well as authorisation to issue, copy and perform such works, where applicable. Establishing contact with specialised Spanish and foreign media and publications where necessary. g) Taking part in the activities of such Spanish and international bodies as may be deemed appropriate. h) Defending and protecting the publisher's rights and functions, in accordance with international treaties, agreements and laws, as well as with the rules of all international professional associations of which AEDEM is a member. i) Promoting the creation of copyright management, administration or collection entities whose objects are in line with those of AEDEM. j) Co-operating with the public authorities and with all state or regional organisations in the promotion of music and authors. |
